The Space
Our dojo is located on 4 acres of land outside New Haven, CT and consists of a formal indoor dojo and the Goma altar which is outdoors. The Goma began as a simple setup around a campfire. In November of 2007, Ajari Tanaka suggested we build a brick altar and that began a series of renovations leading up to where we are today.
The pictures to the left are taken from the deck which serves as a viewing platform overlooking the Dojo. Guests can sit on the deck and observe the ceremony making it easy for people who arrive later or must leave early. The photos to the right face East.
